Consuelo Scivoletto-Cordey

Consuelo Scivoletto-Cordey, known as Consu, is an Italian songwriter/producer and composer based in the UK. Hook driven pop, cinematic piano, lyrical storytelling, and festive songs sit side by side in her catalogue. Her work has been described as “emotionally stirring” and “artistically refined” (MusicCrowns).

Consu grew up in Milan and began studying piano at nine. A scholarship followed, along with classical performances in Europe. In 1995 she moved to the UK to pursue music full time. She studied Music Recording at the University of Salford, focusing on composition and production. During those years she performed widely around Manchester in rock and electro pop bands while developing a deep interest in jazz piano, influenced by Bill Evans.

In the early 2000s Consu began recording her own material. Her acoustic, piano-driven songs caught the attention of industry figures, including Tori Amos’ producer Marcel van Limbeek, and her singing style was described as having  “…echoes of female luminaries, such as Alanis Morissette” (247 Magazine). She continued to perform live, gaining BBC airplay.

Musical influences spanning cinematic scores, melodic rock, traditional jazz, pop and dance have shaped Consu’s identity to evolve into a unique signature defined by strong melodic writing and harmonically rich arrangements, carrying themes of empowerment and hope. Critics have praised her style for its ability to “transcend the bridge between Radio 2 and Classic FM” (This is Cornwall) and to move “from edgy to soft and melodic in a heartbeat” (Bournemouth Daily Echo).

In 2014 Consu shifted her focus toward writing for other artists. Since then her catalogue has expanded across several styles, from bright pop writing to delicate piano compositions. Her debut Christmas album in 2023, supported by Help Musicians, introduced her music to a global audience, gaining more than 186,000 Spotify streams.

Consu’s work continues to receive recognition, from a Sound and Music award, to multiple BBC Introducing features, and international songwriting accolades, including a semi-finalist placement in the US Song of the Year (‘Christmas In Our Heart’). Her song 'Got That Feeling' also secured a single song agreement with MediaTracks UK.

A versatile collaborator, Consu has co-written with songwriters and producers such as Katie Rae, Gethin Pearson, and Julian Hinton, whose credits include Charli XCX, Massive Attack, and Rod Stewart.

With continued support from Help Musicians, Consu is currently recording her second Christmas mini-album. This project blends pop energy with festive nostalgia. At the same time she is recording two new pop-rock songs.

Based in South West England, Consu works with performing artists, film and television projects and brand campaigns. Her approach combines strong songwriting, musical depth and a collaborative working style.

From performing at classical concerts, to singing her own songs live, to developing her songwriting voice for other artists, Consu’s musical journey has always been about finding ways to share music with the world, in order to inspire and uplift.
